Not too sure how this works yet but check out my listings on Depop! It’s like poshmark (a buying and selling app) but they take less of your sales so prices can be lower. Will try to add more soon!

My depop account is @ michellemolina :)

Um, tough question! I’ve had this blog going on 3 years now and it really only got more popular over the last year or so. So it definitely took some time!

I guess I just try to put out content people will like! I listen to what my readers/followers like and keep an eye out for what people seem to react well to so I know what to do more of, and what to do less of. I try to be in depth when answering questions, be well rounded in the type of questions I answer and posts I create and try to update consistently at least 3-4 times a week.

My biggest tips would be give it time, be consistent and try to create quality posts :)

Aerin Cosmetics

Anyone else swooning over the semi-new Aerin cosmetics line? Aerin Lauder (granddaughter of Estee Lauder) came out with this super chic, girly cosmetics line and I think I need everything…

I think of this line as a younger, fresh version of Estee Lauder, which can sometimes be a little too “mature” for my liking. All the gold packaging is very Lauder-esque. To my knowledge the Aerin line is associated with Estee Lauder and sold at stores where Estee Lauder is sold like Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, etc and Estee Lauder’s website as well as Aerin’s own website.

If you’ve tried anything let me know how you liked it! I’m thinking of trying the blushes and lipsticks first :)

Do you know of any good drug store concealers for acne scars?

Try full coverage concealers like

Hard Candy Glamoflauge $6 at Walmart

L.A Girl Pro Concealer $2 at Walgreens, Cherryculture.com and Drugstore.com (wide shade selection)

Loreal Crayon Concealer $8. Wide shade selection and great for spot concealing since you can just dab the crayon exactly over a spot, prevents from over applying and looking cakey.

Hey Michelle! So I have had acne-prone skin since I can remember, and I've just recently found a skin-care regimen that has begun to clear it up, for the most part. My problem is that even now that my acne is mostly gone (knock on wood), i'll apply moisturizer, a primer, foundation, concealer, then powder and a setting spray on top, yet my skin looks powdery, and gets very dry within minutes of application to the point of peeling. What am I doing wrong?

Hello! :)

Are you using acne medicated products to clear your acne? Anything with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide, ingredients to fight acne can be pretty drying and harsh on the skin because it’s drying out the acne.

After your skin clears up i’d recommend going for a more gentle skin care routine and switching out your morning cleanser for a more gentle one and keeping your acne medicated products for night time, this way in the morning your skin won’t be as stripped of it’s natural oils before applying makeup! I keep my skin care really gentle and only whip out my acne cleansers and products (I love Murad!) when I start to break out again. For example, I use my Murad cleansers with salicylic acid at night but never in the morning because it’s too drying so I would use my Fresh Soy Cleanser.

With acne medicated products you want to make sure to use a really moisturizing moisturizer or even a dry oil at night to balance out the skin. Try something like First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream (very calming, almost dries to more of a matte finish), CeraVe Moisturizing Cream (affordable and effective) or Origins Night A Mins Night Cream.

So to round it up

  • Use a gentle face wash in the morning
  • Use a night cream
  • Only use your acne medicated products when you need to (during current break outs/until your skin clears up)

It’s all about balancing out the skin! :)

Makeup Storage: Acrylic Organizers

Looking for a new way to store your makeup? Acrylic organizers are super sleek, modern and practical because they are colorless so you can see all your products right in front of you making looking for products easier. You can organize your makeup in a few ways

  • Acrylic Drawers
  • Acrylic Organizers
  • Acrylic Lipstick/Lipgloss Holders

For drawers check out Muji drawers. Very affordable for acrylic drawers (some are $100+) and you can stack them. I have a 5 drawer and a 2 drawer stacked on top of one another. Muji has some stores in big cities but I had to buy mine online here

Next i’d recommend getting some acrylic vanity organizers for lipstick and every day products! These are great for products you use on a day to day basis like foundation, concealer, brushes, every day lip products, etc because they are easily accessible. You can even stack them on your acrylic drawers to save space! These come in all shapes and sizes and you can get a large selection at Homegoods, Marshalls and Bed Bath & Beyond or online. These are pretty affordable and easily accessible by googling “vanity organizers”.
